Welcome to The Lesson Collective, a creative endeavor by me, BD (short for Brett Davis).  I am an adventurer, educator, writer, and photographer who seeks to maximize my days on this amazing planet, as well as with this wonderful magic we call life.  Through my five decades I have seen and done a few things acquiring a little wisdom and knowledge along the way.  Up until recently, I enjoyed and flourished in a 26-year career as an outdoor educator at the collegiate level.  Through this work, I traveled far and wide exposing young adults to the wonders of the natural world – creating opportunities for Mother Nature speak to them however she would.  Along the way, I found myself serving as a counselor and coach.  It was the most important aspect of my work.  The Lesson Collective is born out this experience and appears on this website as a collection of stories, quotes, poems, photos and other creative ventures authored and created by not only me, but friends, family, and possibly you.  It is meant to entertain, inspire, and add value to those who seek to live a life well lived.
